- Slashed fare to be implemented from new year – Kohar
NewZNew (Chandigarh) : As a New Year gift to the people of the state, the Punjab Government has slashed the Bus fare, and it would come into force from January 1st, 2015.
Disclosing this here today the Punjab Transport Minister Mr. Ajit Singh Kohar said that first time in the history of the state the bus fares have been reduced.
Mr Kohar said that from January onwards rate of fare has been decreased by 4 Paisa/Per KM for ordinary buses. It was earlier 91 Paise/Per KM which would be 87 Paisa/Per KM from 1-1-2015. In case of ordinary HVAC buses it has been cut down to 104.40 Paisa/Per km from 109.20 Paisa/Per KM. Besides this the integral coaches would now charge 156.60 Paisa/Per Km instead of 163.80 Paisa/Per KM, whereas super integral coachs rate of fare would be 174 Paisa/Per KM against the earlier 182 Paisa/Per Km.
