Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment ,SCs & BCs Welfare and Antyodaya(SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, has assured farmers that the state government stands firmly with them in the wake of continuous heavy rains that have led to widespread waterlogging in several parts of the state, including many villages of Narwana constituency.
The farmers need not worry in this adverse situation. The government will ensure compensation for losses to crops, livestock, or any other damage caused by rainwater, said the Minister.
The Minister on Monday inspected the pump set installed at Burji No. 85 in Ujhana, Narwana, and also interacted with local farmers. He, along with officers, reviewed the functioning of pump sets at the Dhamtan Distributary and took stock of the ongoing water drainage efforts. He directed officers on the spot to continue the drainage operations smoothly and without interruption.
Officers informed the Minister that the pump sets are currently discharging 70 cusecs of water per second. Two of them have a capacity of 20 cusecs each, while three others have a capacity of 10 cusecs each. Through these systems, rainwater is being drained from the fields of five villages—Ujhana, Nepewala, Koyal, Kurad, and Dubbal.
During his visit, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi also interacted with farmers from Ujhana and nearby villages to assess crop damage. He emphasized that the government and administration are fully committed to supporting farmers during this difficult time. He urged farmers to upload details of their affected land on the state’s e-Kshatipurti portal so that timely compensation can be provided.
Appealing to farmers, laborers, and the general public, the Minister said that in these challenging circumstances, everyone should maintain patience and brotherhood.
