What is Stephen Baldwin’s Salary and Net Worth?

After a stint of guest-starring on some late 80s and early 90s sitcoms, such as “Kate and Allie” and “Family Ties,” he began working in film. Some of his first projects were stints on “Born on the Fourth of July,” “Posse,” “8 Seconds,” “Threesome,” “Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle,” and his biggest hit, as McManus, in “The Usual Suspects.”. Then it all sort of went “pear-shaped”. His movie projects grew progressively low budget, or simply plain destined for bad reviews, and in 2006, he and his family had to sell their house. In 2009, the house had been repossessed, and they had been compelled to file for bankruptcy. Already an old hand at reality series celebrity work by the mid-2000s, having been on shows such as “Celebrity Mole Hawaii” and “Celebrity Mole Yucatan”, he would go on to spend a few years concentrating on the reality TV work. He has since been on “Ty Murray’s Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge”, “Celebrity Apprentice”, “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”, and “Celebrity Big Brother (UK)”.

Career

Baldwin started his acting career with a guest appearance in a 1987 episode of the PBS anthology series “American Playhouse,” and the next year, he guest-starred on “Family Ties” and worked in the movies “Homeboy” and “The Beast.” In 1989, he started starring on the western television series “The Young Riders,” playing the role of the lead rider in 67 episodes across three seasons. Stephen also made appearances during that year in “Last Exit to Brooklyn” and “Born on the Fourth of July” as well as guest starring on “China Beach.” During the decade of the 1990s, he acted in 20 films, including “Crossing the Bridge” (1992), “A Simple Twist of Fate” (1994), “Half Baked” (1998), and “Friends & Lovers” (1999). Baldwin appeared alongside Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, Kevin Pollak, Benicio del Toro, and Chazz Palminteri in the Academy Award-winning film “The Usual Suspects” in 1995 and as Barney Rubble in “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas” in 2000. He hosted eight episodes of the Syfy channel hidden camera series “Syfy” in 2004, as well as directing and co-producing the documentary short “Livin’ It” that same year.

In 2007, Stephen guest-starred as himself in the Vince Vaughn-Paul Paul Giamatti Christmas movie “Fred Claus” and competed on “Ty Murray’s Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge,” but he withdrew from the competition during the second episode after he fell from a wooden pontoon and suffered a broken shoulder blade and cracked rib. In 2008, he placed fifth on “Celebrity Apprentice,” and appeared on “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice” in 2013. Baldwin directed and produced the documentary “The Will to Drill” in 2012, and has appeared in several religious movies over the past few years, including “I’m in Love with a Church Girl” (2013), “Faith of Our Fathers” (2015), and “The Apostle Peter: Redemption” (2016). Financial issues

In 2009, Stephen’s house in Rockland County, New York (which he bought for $515,000 in 1997) was foreclosed and auctioned after he fell behind on payments of over $800,000 worth of mortgages. He was also found at the time to owe tens of thousands of dollars in state and federal taxes on the property. Baldwin sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July of 2009. His court petition indicated that the actor owed several million dollars. In 2013, Stephen was directed to pay $300,000 in overdue taxes and penalties following his guilty plea for not filing New York state income taxes for three years in a row (2008, 2009, and 2010).

Activism

Baldwin was a born-again Christian following the 2001 September 11th attacks, and in 2006, he co-founded Breakthrough Ministry with Bobby Brewer and Mario D’Ortenzio. The group mounted arena tours (AsSalt Tours) in order to engage with people through extreme sports. Two years afterwards, Stephen established Antioch Ministry, a for-profit ministry designed to “facilitate the gifts and calling of Stephen Baldwin” and communicate to young people in a culturally applicable way the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He established another ministry, Now More Than Ever, in 2009, which focused on reaching individuals who were enlisted in the military throughout the globe.

Personal Life

Stephen wed Kennya Deodato, a Brazilian graphic designer, on 10 June 1990 and together they had daughters Alaia and Hailey Bieber in 1993 and 1996, respectively. Baldwin is Justin Bieber’s father-in-law, whose wife Hailey Bieber married Justin in 2018. Stephen had an “HM” tattoo on his shoulder after Miley Cyrus challenged him to, claiming that he could get on “Hannah Montana” (which his daughters were watching) if he did it. Although he presented the tattoo to Cyrus during a 2008 book signing, he never did get on the show.

Kevin Costner Lawsuit

Baldwin sued Kevin Costner in 2010 for $3.8 million regarding oil-separating technology created by Kevin Costner at Nevada Corporation (CINC). Stephen stated that he and Costner had an understanding that Baldwin and friend Spyridon Contogouris could sell the technology to BP following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, but Kevin met with BP in secret. Stephen claimed that Costner utilized the $18 million down payment agreed to by BP during that meeting to purchase Baldwin and Contogouris out, and the two men lost $2 million of shares in the business just before BP acquired the CINC technology for $52 million. A jury went on to decide in June 2012 in Costner’s favor.

Awards and Nominations

In 1995, Baldwin won an Awards Circuit Community Award and a National Board of Review award with his “The Usual Suspects” co-stars. He even won a Stinker Award for Worst On-Screen Hairstyle in 1996 for “Biodome”. In 2003, Stephen was nominated for a DVD Exclusive Award as Best Actor for “Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice”, and “The Flyboys” got him a nomination as Best Supporting Actor at the 2008 Hoboken International Film Festival.
