If you were a fan of The Proud Family back in the early 2000s, you are in for a treat. The beloved series returned as The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, and now Season 3 is on its way. This reboot brings back all the heart, humor, and chaos we loved, but with a fresh 2020s vibe.

The story still follows Penny Proud, a 14-year-old middle schooler, and her lovable but wild family. You will see her navigating friendships, school drama, and big life lessons. Of course, Suga Mama is still around, being as hilarious as ever. Old friends like Michael, Dijonay, Zoey, and LaCienega also return.
There are also some new faces this time. Siblings Maya and KG have joined the crew, along with their adoptive dads. The show now takes place in Emilyville, the town formerly known as Smithville. It’s the same fun show, just louder and more real.
You can catch the show exclusively on Disney+. To stream, you will need a subscription. The $9.99 per month. Whether you are watching it alone or with family, this one is definitely worth it.
The Cast That Keeps It Louder and Funnier
What makes this series shine is the amazing voice cast. Kyla Pratt brings Penny Proud to life with the perfect mix of sass and charm. Tommy Davidson and Paula Jai Parker return as Oscar and Trudy, still trying to balance parenting and chaos.

JoMarie Payton is back as the scene-stealing Suga Mama. You will also hear Soleil Moon Frye, Alisa Reyes, and Cedric the Entertainer. New characters, including Maya and KG, are voiced by Keke Palmer and Artist Dubose. The cast brings heart and humor to every line.

We saw the return of fan favorites like Suga Mama, Michael, LaCienega, Dijonay, and Zoey. The season also introduced two new kids, Maya and KG, who came to town with their two dads. While not everyone welcomed them right away, the show handled it with honesty and humor. By the end of Season 1, we got a feel for the updated world of The Proud Family, still wild, still funny, but more current and thoughtful.
Season 2 picked up where things left off but went deeper. Penny faced more serious issues like identity, family expectations, and standing up for what’s right. Her relationships evolved, and so did her confidence. Maya and KG got more screen, time too, and their stories helped show different sides of growing up. We also saw Suga Mama’s past in one episode and learned more about the Proud family history.
The biggest twist came in the season finale, “Juneteenth.” It ended with the town of Smithville being renamed Emilyville, and that change opened the door for a whole new chapter. Now, with Season 3 on the way, it looks like things are only going to get louder, prouder, and a lot more complicated.
