newznew (Chandigarh) : Telangana State Diploma in Elementary Education Common Entrance Test (TS DEECET 2017) has been conducted today by the Department of School Education. The exam was conducted in the online mode for the first time for which 42,690 candidates had registered. Telangana DEECET 2017 has been conducted for admissions into 2-year D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) program offered by Elementary Education Institutes. The qualified candidates will be eligible for merit based admission in D.El.Ed. program offered by all Government DIETs, Government Elementary Teacher Education Institutions and Category ‘A’ seats (80% of the sanctioned intake) of the Private Unaided Elementary Teacher Education Institutions. The online applications for TS DEECET 2017 were submitted from May 10 to 24.
DEECET 2017 was conducted in three sessions today; 9 am to 11 am, 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm. The online test comprised of 100 questions divided in three parts and each question carried 1 mark. DEECET was conducted in three mediums – English, Telugu and Urdu. Part 1 and Part 3 were common for all the three medium. Part 1 (General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude) had 10 questions, while Part 3 had 60 questions as: Mathematics (20 questions), Physical Sciences (10 questions), Biological Sciences (10 questions) and Social Studies (20 questions).
Part 2 of DEECET 2017 had 30 questions, of which Telugu medium exam had 10 questions on General English and 20 questions on General Telugu. Similarly, Urdu medium exam had 10 questions on General English and 20 questions on General Urdu. The English medium candidates had Part 2 as 20 questions on General English and 10 questions on General Telugu/ General Urdu as opted by them during registration for the test.
TS DEECET 2017 key is expected to be released by some unofficial sources including Eenadu Pratibha and Sakshi Education. As soon as any of these publish DEECET key answers, the same will be updated here for the candidates. Meanwhile, the official answer key of DEECET 2017 is expected to be released by the School Education Department by the next week. The official website for DEECET is tsdeecet.cgg.gov.in.
The candidates belonging to Open Category (OC) and Backward Category (BC) are required to score minimum 35 percent marks in TS DEECET 2017 in order to be awarded a rank. However, there is no minimum qualifying marks criteria for SC/ ST candidates and they will be awarded DEECET rank based on their marks. The admissions to D.El.Ed. course will be done through a single window system in the order of merit on the basis of medium-wise rank assigned in TSDEECET 2017.
