Union Minister Harsimrat Badal to Inaugurate DADI-POTI PARK on Dec 12

NewZNew (Bathinda) : With the consistent efforts of Union Cabinet Minister Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal, the Dadi-Poti Park spread on 2.5 acres of land in Urban Estate phase 3, is all set to become center of attraction with its swank new modern look and would be inaugurated on December 12.

Laced with facilities especially for children and the elderly from society, the Bathinda Development Authority (BDA) has left no stone unturned to usher in comfort, relaxation and recreation for the visitors to park.

Giving information in this context today, the Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Dr Basant Garg stated that on December 12, the Union Minister for Food Processing Industry Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal would inaugurate it as well as distribute sewing machines to the women who have completed various courses under Minister’s NGO Nanhi Chhan Foundation.

Dr Garg added that with aim to inculcate reading habits and satiate the inquisitive minds, a library has been set up in the park. It has special reading corners for children and elderly. Apart from books, toys too adorn the shelves of this library.

He added that new play stations and swings have been installed in the park wherein children get free entertainment. Also a music system has been installed in the park t enliven mood of people visiting the place. Laced with the modern facilities, this upgraded park also has a booth of the government agency Verka where milk and its products including cheese and ice cream would be sold to the visitors. Besides this, the footpath in park has been widened from 6 feet to 10 feet providing wider passage for the walkers.

The Chief Administrator of BDA, Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma said that Rs 110 lacs have been spent on giving the park this new look. He added that ICICI Bank has been entrusted the work of running and maintaining the library as well as park. The park is decked with rain shelters, beautiful landscaping and proper light arrangements.
