Does Wednesday Get Her Powers Back? What Happened to Aunt Ophelia?

The big mess pops up for Wednesday when she loses her gift of sight. She used it too much with no one to watch her. All through the show, she’s stuck on her last sight of her friend Enid’s end. She can’t see more, even when she needs to. She learns she’s not the first to face this snag. Her aunt, Ophelia, had the same issue. Ophelia could have shown her how to use her skills, but no one has seen her for ten years or more. She left Willow Hill back then. By the end, Wednesday fixes her sight issue. She makes up with her mom & drops the wall of pain that kept her stuck.

Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 Ending Explained: Are Francoise and Isaac Dead?

She had been warned by her spirit guide, Weems, that having a disagreement with her mother blocked her spiritually and made it impossible for her to use her abilities. However, she ultimately puts the argument behind her, particularly after Morticia gives her Ophelia’s journal in the hopes that it will help her comprehend her abilities. She touches a page in the book where Ophelia drew her own picture, and it gives her a vision. She sees Aunt Ophelia in a dungeon, but she is unaware that it is located in her grandmother Hester Frump’s home.

It turns out that Grandmama has been keeping her younger daughter captive for a long time and hasn’t told anyone the truth about her predicament. However, it appears that this hasn’t affected Ophelia’s abilities, which raises the question of whether Wednesday’s vision was her own or if Ophelia was using her abilities to reveal her location to her niece. The fact that Ophelia has a sentence painted on the wall with her blood when Hester opens the cell adds to the foreboding atmosphere. Given how dangerous Wednesday is going to be, the prophecy that states, “Wednesday has to die,” does not bode well for the protagonist.
