NewZNew (Panchkula) : In the 6^th Wg Cdr S S Gyani Memorial Cricket Tournament organized by St. Soldier’s School, Sector-16, Panchkula, YPS, Mohali (159/3) won the 1^st Semi-Final against Pinegrove School, HP (158/10) by 7 wickets. Prabhnoor of YPS, Mohali was declared Man of the Match. Pinegrove, HP batted first. Tanvir made 39 runs off 34 balls hitting 8 4s. Sahej hit 30 runs off as many balls, he hit 3 boundaries. Arshdeep made a breezy 23 off just 11 balls hitting one 4 and 3 sixers. YPS bowlers Mohit, Vipanjot and Aaysush took 2 wickets each.

YPS batsmen were set a target of 158 and the team achieved the same in just 21 overs losing only 3 wickets. Prabhnoor made 54 after facing 39 balls which included 7 4s and 3 sixers. Divansh made 45 from 40 balls hitting 5 4s and 2 sixes and Aakashdeep scored 27 off 14 deliveries and hit four 4s. Jagdeep, Anmol and Nikhat took one wicket each for Pinegrove. The second semi-final will be played between hosts St Soldier’s Public School, Panchkula and The Gurukul, Panchkula on 7^th October.
