The 6th Hero Racing OYA Autocross Motocross & Off-road Challenge

NewZNew (Chandigarh – Kulbir Singh Kalsi) : The longest dirt flat track in India with a tunnel and bridge cross. The country’s only twin-track with two vehicles racing together, starting from the same point but never meeting. India’s only motosport extravaganza to feature Autocross, Motocross and extreme off-roading together. The Sixth Hero Racing OYA Autocross, Motocross and Off-Road Challenge is back in Mohali from December 19-21, with some of the top names in motorsport in the country.

The motorsport champions in the country competing at the event include India’s foremost precision driver Rahul Kanthraj of Bangalore, Delhi’s champions Sanjay Sikand, Bobby Bhogal and Phil Mathais, Abhishek Mishra from Bangalore, Parminder Thakur from Shimla and others. Top names from the region include Sunny Sidhu, Mohit Verma, Dr Dhirendra Singh, Harpreet Bawa, Harvinder Bhola, Harkaran Singh and others.

For the first time, Hero Racing is bringing the nine Motocross champion riders from all over the country to compete in the event. . The National Hero Racing team is going to participate this year. Hero Motocorp forayed on the tracks of SBK in 2014 alongside Erik Buell Racing after two successful year at AMA Superbike Championship. Hero is also the first Indian Manufacturer to enter WSBK. It has not only set fire on the International tracks, Hero Racing Team claimed 3 championship titles at MRF Supercross championship 2014.  The Sixth Hero Racing OYA Autocross, Motocross and Off-Road Challenge will also see tough participation in the women’s category. Sarika Sherawat Vohra, the longest-running Xtreme rallyist in the country is competing in the event along with new talent like Vaneeta Kang, Garima Avtra and Parul Aieren.

The local Offroading club Gerrari Offroaders will be facing tough competition from Xtreme Offroaders Ludhiana, NIOC Delhi, Mudholics Jallandhar and several other players

The entries for the event opened on 31st October, and the categories are already full with Auto cross getting 125 entries (till now), and will close at 140, Moto has got 84 entries (till now) and will close at 90, whereas off roading closes at 36.The event will run under the guidelines laid out by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India (FMSCI). This time too, the winners will walk away with cash prizes, certificates, merchandise and trophies. The safety partner of the event is Fortis Healthcare, whose paramedic team along with all first aid kits will be stationed at the venue.

The Champions of last 3 years Sanjay Sikand, Bobbie Bhogal & Phil Mathaous will again be fighting it out against each other.

Gulpreet Aulakh, COC of the event, said that the Sixth Hero Racing OYA Autocross, Motocross and Off-Road Challenge will be a test of the driver’s skill, and not just the power of his vehicle. “We have 18 chicanes over a 3-km track. This means that almost every 200 meters, the driver will have to negotiate a sharp double-bend. The race will be highly technical, and only the most skillful driver will be able to score high,” said Mr Aulakh, who is also the patron of Old Yadvindrians Association and founder of Team Chandigarh Adventure Sports (TCAS).

The Offroading Challenge will have seven obstacles this year. The difficulty quotient of the obstacle will increase at every level. For the Sixth Hero Racing OYA Autocross, Motocross and Off-Road Challenge, the entire scoring will be automated and transparent. “This year, we have down away with the timing system in off-roading. The automated point system will prevent any scoring lapses and will be accurate to the decimal point,” said Co-Founder TCAS, Mr Nikhil Jaspal.

 About  the event

AutoCross
This is a group that is open to any STOCK/MODIFIED car of any make,   with good tyres,  seat belts and FIA approved helmets, This group is further divided into several groups based on the  engine cubic capacity.

Motocross
This group is open to all Indian as well as Imported bikes, but it is important to have proper gear as well and FIA approved Helmets.

Off-Roading

This Group is open to all 4X4 vehicles with seat belts and helmets.
