NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Nav Bal Niketan School Sector 29B, Chandigarh celebrated Green day at its scholl premises. All the children looked attractive draped in their green colored attires. Their teachers made them aware of the need of protecting their environment and the role they could play to do so.  Students were explained about the importance of trees and plants in our lives.

Inter house science quiz competition was also organized. Students of classes 5th through 8th planted medicinal and ornamental plants along the boundary wall of the school. Each house was also assigned plants so that they are taken care of while they grow bigger.

Principal Mrs Punam Mahajan told students about global warming and how we can save our environment from harmful effect of green house gasses by planting more and more trees.
