Run by Paul Scheuring, ‘Prison Break’ is set on a tale where Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is set up for a crime & set to die. His cell is at the Fox River State Jail. His kin, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), makes a plan to get him out & clean his name. As a good skill build king, Michael is caught for a fake hold-up to get into the jail.

In there, he soon makes some pals then starts his plan. But, the kin’s try is fought by the jail staff & by folks of a hidden group that set Lincoln up. The show is a mix of crime & thrill. Named ‘El recluso,’ ‘The Inmate’ is a show about an old US Marine, Lázaro Mendoza (Ignacio Serricchio). He takes on a fake name, Dante Pardo, & is blamed for a big crime. Held in La Rotunda, a top-safe jail in Mexico, he tries to mix in with a mean group. This group has bad men & bad jail guards. They are main in the loss of a judge’s young girl. Like the bros in ‘Prison Break,’ Lázaro is a man with a plan. He aims to get in & out of jail & win his goal. The show is from the show ‘El Marginal’ in Argentina. Run by Brett Johnson & Michael Tolkin, ‘Escape at Dannemora’ gives a new take on the 2015 jail break from Clinton Jail in New York. Joyce “Tilly” Mitchell (Patricia Arquette) is wed & works at the jail. She falls in love with two men in jail, who are held for bad acts, Richard Matt (Benicio del Toro) & David Sweat (Paul Dano). She aids them in their flee, but they get caught back. Tilly is held by the cops & has to tell all about her role in the jail break. 3. Prison Cell 211 (2025)

Based on a real tale, ‘Prison Cell 211’ shows a rights law man, Juan Olvera (Diego Calva). He goes to a jail in a town by the border in Mexico on Dec 31, 2022. He wants to see a client. Sadly, a big riot starts when he is in the jail, & Juan is stuck with those locked up. To get out, he takes on the look of one in jail & looks hard for a way out in the chaos. Juan does all he can to leave the jail not hurt. This is like what the two bros do in ‘Prison Break.’ See the show here.

 4. El Marginal (2016-2022)

Made by Israel Adrián Caetano & Sebastián Ortega, ‘El Marginal‘ is about an ex-cop, Miguel Palacios (Juan Minujín). Using a fake name & a made-up case, he goes to a jail in San Onofre. He acts as an inmate. His aim? To mix with a gang locked up there. Miguel wants to find out stuff. He needs info on a judge’s lost girl. This gang may have taken her. By choice, he gets locked up to do this job. This links the tales of Miguel & Michael Scofield in ‘Prison Break.’ You can watch the show on Netflix.

5. Locked Up (2015-2019)

Made by Iván Escobar, Esther Martínez Lobato, & Álex Pina, ‘Locked Up’ is about Macarena Ferreiro Molina (Maggie Civantos). She took cash due to her boss, who she likes a lot. With four tax lies charges, she ends up in Cruz del Sur Jail. Since her jail time can hit seven years, she starts to know the new place she is in to get set for bad times. 6. Prison Playbook (2017)

Made by Lee Woo-jung, ‘Prison Playbook’ has Park Hae-soo as Kim Je-hyuk. He’s a big name in baseball, set to go to the US & join the Boston Red Sox. Just days to go, he acts to save his sis from harm & hits the bad guy hard. Kim gets hit with an assault charge & gets one year in jail. In jail, he finds it tough. Good at baseball, but hard to take care of himself. Like the men in ‘Prison Break,’ Kim gets used to his new jail life, as he counts the days till he’s out. They use city names to hide who they are. Netflix  They face cops & hold folks as they work their plan. All is told by one in the team, Silene Oliveira or Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó). Like the ‘Prison Break’ guys, the Professor sets up big plans for them to win. First named ‘La casa de papel,’ you can watch the show now.

9. Who Killed Sara? (2021-2022)

Made by José Ignacio Valenzuela, ‘Who Killed Sara?’ is the tale of Álex Guzmán (Manolo Cardona) who is wrongly jailed for the death of his sis Sara (Ximena Lamadrid). They were at a lake party with pals. Álex spent 18 years in jail. Netflix  He comes out wanting to find who truly killed his sis & make them pay. He eyes the big shot Lazcano clan who had a hand in his jail time. Like Lincoln Burrows in ‘Prison Break,’ Álex is put in jail for no good cause. This sparks his hunt for what is right. 10. Squid Game (2021-2025)

At first, it was named ‘Ojing-eo geim,’ but ‘Squid Game’ by Hwang Dong-hyuk shows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), a man in his mid-life who is out of luck. He is a split-up dad with big bet debts who lives with his old work mom.  Netflix  When Seong Gi-hun gets a shot to win big cash by playing in a kids’ games match, he says yes fast. He is sent to a place no one knows, where he joins 455 more folks with money woes. All dress in green suits & are watched all day by masked men.
