NewZNew (Chandigarh – Kulbir Singh Kalsi) : The 130th meeting of State Level Bankers’ Committee of Punjab held at Hotel Shivalik View, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
State Level Bankers’ Committee is a forum for discussing the issues concerned with Bankers, RBI, NABARD and State/Central Governments and review their contribution to the overall economic development of the State particularly of Priority Sector, State Annual Credit Programme, NRLM, PMEGP, NULM, SHGs, Financial Inclusion, credit related issues and other programmes aimed at Rural Development and upliftment of weaker and downtrodden sections of the society.
The forum meets once in a quarter to review the performance and lays down action plan to improve the performance further in weak areas for future.
All Zonal/Controlling Heads of banks operating in the State of Punjab and Senior Officers from RBI, NABARD, MoF, GoI and concerned State Government Departments were participated in the meeting.
Shri Sikander Singh Maluka, Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development & Panchayats, Punjab was the Chief Guest and Shri Gauri Shankar, Executive Director, Punjab National Bank presided over the meeting.
