NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Chandigarh Yoga Association organized two day 31st Chandigarh State Yogasana Sports Championship in collaboration with the Government College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23 A, Chandigarh at the College premises on October 16th & 17th, 2015. The championship was inaugurated by Sh. Maninder Singh (IAS), Chairman, Chandigarh Housing Board, Chandigarh on today at 10:00 a.m.
The championship is open for various age groups, as per details given below:-
Sub Junior Group-A (8-11), Sub Junior Group-B (11-14), Junior Group (14-17), Senior Group-A (17-21), Senior Group-B (21-25), Senior Group-C (25-35) and Veteran Group above 35 years both for males and females separately. During the championship a variety of asanas will be performed by the competitors under various age categories as mentioned above. Moreover, it will give an opportunity to the students as well as general public to enhance their fitness-physical and mental. The winner will represent Chandigarh State in 40th National Yoga Sports Championship to be held from 10th to 14th January, 2016 at Manglore (Karnataka).
The association is also organizing a special test for yoga referee on today. The minimum qualification for the test is 1 year Diploma Course in Yoga after graduation.
Sh. Vijay Kumar Dev (IAS), Adviser to Administrator, Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh to be the Chief Guest on October 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. and will give away the prizes to the winners.
