NewZNew (SAS Nagar) : To ensure smooth traffic flow & keep a close watch on over speeding vehicular traffic 8 CCTV cameras and sign boards displaying speed limits will be installed on zirakpur flyover. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while conducting a meeting at district administrative complex, with Traffic Police officials & civil administration officers regarding assurance of smooth traffic flow & strongly implementation of traffic rules & regulations in the district.
Sh. Sidhu said that traffic control system in mohali will be implemented as it is in Chandigarh and nobody will be allowed to violate the traffic rules. He said that to keep a close watch on the traffic rules violators, CCTV cameras will be installed on the main chowks very soon. Besides this, new Alcometers will be procured & will be provided to the traffic police to control drink & drive cases.
Sh. Sidhu said that Zebra crossing as per requirement will also be marked accordingly and temporary shops & Rehris, from the road sides will be removed at the earliest to avoid any mishap. He said that the new 200 feet wide road constructed from Chatt village to Derabassi- Ambala highway will be linked with both the main highways very soon. This will lessen the traffic movement on Zirakpur road. In this regard, he directed the GMADA officials to take necessary action. Besides this, he also directed to ensure proper functioning of traffic lights. He directed to take each requisite effort to ensure smooth traffic flow in view of Flyover being constructed at Dera Bassi. He also directed to all the executive officers to remove temporary shops & Rehris from in front of Civil hospital Dera Bassi and from the Landran Chowk, Lakhnaur Landran Road as these roads remain always busy.
During this, Additional Deputy Commissioner Smt. Poonamdeep KAur, SP (Traffic) Shavinder Singh Bains, SDM Dera Bassi Smt. Inderjeet kaur kang & other traffic police officials were present.
