Taking to the dais after the inauguration, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways & Shipping, said, “Availability of funds is not a constraint for infrastructure development, and I am optimistic about overcoming other hurdles to attain desired levels of growth.”
On balanced development he added, “Not just the industry but the agricultural sector must grow. The thrust is on generating more investments, and jobs, for rural India. Only then can India’s economy grow holistically.”
Commenting on this, Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Joint Managing Director, Hero Moto Corp Ltd. and Chairman, Hero Corporate Services Ltd. said, “It gives me great satisfaction to see that a truly independent platform for discussion, debate and communication has been created in the form of Mindmine Summit. The Summit has attracted considerable attention for its ability to hold forth on contemporary and forward looking issues. Noted personalities and outstanding individuals will come here to analyze, inform, debate and introspect.”
Since 2006, luminaries and distinguished leaders from every field of human endeavour have been a part of this iconic event. The previous edition of the summit (India: Economics or Politics?) looked at a nation mired in low growth, fragmented politics and policy stasis. This year’s edition will evaluate India’s new eco-political atmosphere and emerging social arithmetic; and how it can help the country evolve over the next 10 years.
