He soon finds himself taken away to another world where he encounters Roland Deschain, a gunslinger who has been chosen to guard the dark tower against Walter Padick, the man in black who seeks to unleash hell by annihilating it. Knowing his world, and that of Deschain, is under great threat, he chooses to assist the latter in defeating Padick. Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, ‘The Dark Tower’ features Tom Taylor, Idris Elba, and Matthew McConaughey. The movie does justice to its neo-Western fantasy world setting and provides scope for large-scale action which, while watering down violence as it has been presented in the novels, provides a fun binge-watch, if nothing else. 5. Mr. Harrigan’s Phone (2022)

Horror drama film ‘Mr. Harrigan’s Phone,’ directed and written by John Lee Hancock, the action follows from Stephen King’s novella of the same title in the collection ‘If It Bleeds.’ The cast includes Donald Sutherland, Jaeden Martell, Joe Tippett, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste, with the story being about Craig and his close relationship with businessman John Harrigan who has retired. Their existence becomes a strange twist when Craig wins a lottery, which prompts both to buy their first iPhones. Based on Stephen King’s novella ‘The Body,’ ‘Stand by Me’ follows the rousing escapades of four young friends who are on a quest to find a missing boy. The story that initially appears simple gradually develops into a complex coming-of-age tale as each boy uncovers secrets about himself and his attitude toward them. The adventures of Gordie, Chris, Teddy, and Vern in trying to find a lost person represent them trying to find what is lacking in their own lives.
