NewZNew (Panchkula) : ‘Sitare Zameen Pe’, the Annual Carnival of The Sky World School was held at the school’s premises in Sec 21, Panchkula in a unique way. The event started with The Sky World School students presenting an enchanting Ganpati Vandana followed by English songs and a French song too. The dances by the tiny tots from Playway to Class I included Bum Bum, Zuby Duby, Macarena et al. As many as 250 students of the school took part in the event.

The event was organized by the school not just to highlight the talent of its students but also to provide a platform to young children from the society. This is in accordance with the distinctive ‘The Sky World School’ ethos of fulfilling one’s responsibility towards children & parents connected not just with the school but the whole society. To achieve this, open competitions were held in which as many as 500 young children in age group of 3-12 years participated in competitions like Solo Dance, Draw & Colour with the Theme “Save Environment” and a “Go Green” Fancy Dress event. There was a baby show which was also included that brought cute toddlers in the age bracket of 1.5-3 years on one platform. This presented a pretty picture. The babies who took part were judged on aspects like Beautiful Hair, Sparkling Eyes, Chubby Cheeks, Confident Champ and Best Dressed baby. Laureates’ competition for Classes V to X was also held in both Maths and Science.

Mrs. Santosh Bhandari, Principal, who is a National award Winner as well as the Best Principal Awardee said, “All the wonders a child seeks in life are deep inside the child. In our education system that is based on Multiple Intelligence Theory, every student is different and is a star of tomorrow. There is a spark within each student that has to be ignited using unique learning and teaching methodologies. Talent of all students has to be actualized, nourished, and kindled. We have 3-4 such activities every year and these provide an opportunity to students of not just our Sky World School but children from other schools to unleash their talent, fight stage fear etc.”

There were attractions for parents too. Special arrangements like Tambola, one Minute games & lots of prizes were there on offer. Rs 5000/- Jewellery vouchers too were available to be won as was A Lucky Trip of 3 days & 2 nights free stay by Magic Holidays for the complete family. In the end a prize distribution ceremony was organized. A most satisfying day indeed.
