NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Donating blood voluntarily & without any self-interest is a symbol of humanity. Person who has feeling of mercy, compassion & humanity within his heart can only do such act. These thoughts were shared by Sh V. P. Singh-IAS, Commissioner-Municipal Corporation Chandigarh while inaugurating the Blood Donation Camp and addressing the devotees at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sector-30 today. In this Camp 446 donors including 47 women donated their blood voluntarily.
Sh. Singh told everybody uses blood while working hard in the form of perspiration but blessed are those who save someone’s life by donating blood. He congratulated and appreciated the blood donation camps organized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation every year.
Sh. Singh appreciated the patience of donors waiting for their turn to donate blood & said that here the blood is being donated selflessly, it will certainly give life to many people. Shri Singh appreciated Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh ji for organizing blood donation camps every year & prayed to Baba ji for healthy & blessed life for all donors.
On this occasion Dr. B. S. Cheema ji-Zonal Incharge Chandigarh thanked the Commissioner, Shri V. P. Singh for inaugurating the Blood donation camp. He said that the chain of blood donation camps is organized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation every year starting from 24th April to imbibe the sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh ji for uniting the entire mankind together & enhancing the feeling of affection in every one. Dr. Cheema briefed that today 74 blood donation camps are under progress across India and so far more than seven lakh units of blood have been donated voluntarily by the devotees in 4073 camps organized till 31.03.2015.
Sh Mohinder Singh ji, Sanyojak reminded Baba Hardev Singh Ji’s version of “Let Blood flow in veins instead of drains”. He thanked all devotees who were present on this occasion. A twenty-five member’s team led by Dr. Aashish Jain, Assistant Professor-PGI collected the blood units. Dr. Jain said that a great job is being done by devotees for humanity through selfless blood donation.
