NewZNew (Mohali) : CGC Landran organized seminar on Current challenges of Intellectual property rights and Biotechnology. Scientist Divya, from Patent information center (PSCST) discussed about Intellectual property rights. She discussed patent filing related to Polypeptide sequence, genetically modified organisms, Gene sequence, Vectors, Vaccine composition, Antibiotics and various equipments used in Biotechnology Research. She further emphasized to the students that biotechnology is core research area, which has lots of potential. Biotech sector is growing at a very fast rate thus leading to lot of scope in research and development and ultimately leading to patent filing. She also motivated the students for doing novel research & emphasized filing of patents .She later, assured students that future support will be given by PIC, (PSCST) for patent filing.

While thanking Chairman Satnam singh Sandhu said that it was a highly interactive and informative session for faculty members & students as well. President Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal analyzes various dimensions of intellectual property right issues, which relate to the field of biotechnology.
