150 architects to attend Architects Meet & Seminar on 3 & 4th Feb
Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore will be inaugurating the four-day Interior Exterior & building materials show “INT-EXT EXPO” at the Parade ground, Sector 17, here on February 2.
The INT-EXT EXPO would showcase more than 200 exhibitors who will present the latest trends in the world of interiors, antiques and curios, aquarium artefacts, bathroom fittings and accessories, elaborating technology, innovations, equipment and concepts for the Architects & Designers’ community. This show is being organized by Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Punjab Chapter and Udan Media & Communications Pvt. Ltd. The exhibition will remain open from 10 am to 7 pm daily from February 2 to 5.
Mr. G.S. Dhillon, Director Udan Media and Communications Pvt. Ltd, organiser of this Event informed that the products being showcased include luxurious home needs and interiors, imported furniture, designer fans, home automation, office furniture, ethnic and carved furniture, decorative lamps and lights, modular kitchens, murals, blinds, aquariums, artefacts and handicrafts, bunker beds, glass paintings and decorative items, chimneys and hobs, rugs and carpets, massage chairs, health equipment, 3D holographic sculptures, carved wooden doors, home décor products, furnishings, artificial gardens, UPS, garden furniture, landscaping, upholstery, frames and paintings, etc.
Architect Surinder Bahga, member Advisory Committee on UTs to Home Ministry of India, said, the objective of the expo is to provide the latest trends in interiors and exteriors under one roof. He said as a part of this event, Architects’ Meet is being organized on 3rd February. About 150 architects of entire North India are likely to participate. A panel discussion on “Liabilities of Architects” is being organized where speakers are Vijay Garg, Vice President, Council of Architecture; Punit Sethi, Chairman of IIA Haryana Chapter; Shamit Manchanda, Chairman, Northern Chapter; Sanjay Goel, Chairman, Punjab Chapter and Surinder Bahga, Member, Advisory committee to Union Home Ministry on UTs will participate.
Giving the information, Ar. Sanjay Goel, Chairman IIA, Punjab Chapter, informed, “The changing needs of modern living are identified in such exhibitions which motivate the manufacturers and service providers to meet the requirements of the users. Such Events provide an exposure to latest trends for smart and healthy living.”
On 4th February, a seminar on “Recent Trends in Architecture” is being organized in a specially-created conference hall in Exhibition Ground. About 150 architects from Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, New Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and J&K are likely to participate. Major attractions of the seminar will be nationally famed architect Chirag Jain from Mumbai and GS Matharoo from Ahmedabad who will speak. Architects Surinder Bahga, Sanjay Goel, PPS Ahluwalia will also address the gathering.
