Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain flagged off the awareness cycle rally dedicated to World Hypertension Day.

The rally started from the District Hospital and went to various places. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jain said that hypertension is the main cause of various health problems, such as stroke, heart attack, kidney disease, dementia, etc. Many people who suffer from hypertension do not know that they are suffering from this disease because it may not have any symptoms. Often people come to know about it only after suffering a heart attack or stroke.

He said that the main objective of this rally is to make people aware and increase awareness about hypertension, which is also commonly known as high blood pressure.
Dr. Jain said that blood pressure should be around 120/80 for the general population and around 130/80 for the hypertensive population without any other complications, and around 130/80 for people with diabetes or chronic kidney disease. The use of medicines and making lifestyle changes can improve the quality of life and reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and others.
