NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today announced to commemorate the 350th Foundation Day of Sri Anandpur Sahib from June 17 to 19 June, 2015 as a mega event to disseminate the rich legacy of this historic ‘City of Bliss’ and nation’s symbol of ‘unity in diversity’ across the globe.
Presiding over a high level meeting to review the arrangements of this memorable function here at Punjab Bhawan, the Chief Minister also decided to invite the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi besides the members of the entire Union Cabinet and Chief Ministers of all the States and other prominent dignitaries from different walks of the life to attend this prestigious function. He also constituted a committee meeting comprising Member Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal and Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal both Cabinet Ministers and Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs & Tourism Ms. Anajli Bhawra to finalize the modalities regarding the community kitchen (Langar), accommodation and podium and acoustics etc.
The Chief Minister also asked the Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs & Tourism Ms. Anajli Bhawra to extend the invitation to the eminent religious personalities viz Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sri Sankracharya of Dwaraka Peeth besides other such renowned personalities from Christianity and Islam to propagate the message of ‘Unity in Diversity’ in right perspective which connotes the underlying the philosophy of holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
On the request of the organizing committee, the Chief Minister agreed to call on the Union Railways Minister for seeking special train from Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Takht Sri Dam Dama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo) Bathinda and Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar and Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib to facilitate the lakhs of devotees to participate in the mega celebrations of this historic function. Likewise, he would also soon meet the Union Information & Broadcasting Minister for seeking his personal intervention for the preparation of a documentary film showcasing the rich legacy of this sacred city and Khalsa Panth and Cultural Affairs & Tourism Minister GoI for organizing light and sound programme and laser shows besides installation of life-sized paintings and murals depicting the glorious past and history of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
The Chief Minister also gave approval to execute repair of adjoining roads converging at Sri Anandpur Sahib from Bunga Sahib, Noorpur Bedi, Kalwan Mor, Garh Shankar and Nangal and asked the Chief Engineer PWD (B&R) to complete the entire patch work on these roads within a fortnight.
Prominent amongst others who attended the meeting included; President BJP Mr. Kamal Sharma, Member Rajya Sabha Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Member Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, MLA and President Istri Akali Dal Bibi Jagir Kaur, Former MP Mr. Tarlochan Singh, Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal and Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal both Cabinet Ministers, Head, Sant Samaj Baba Harnam Singh Dhuma, Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs & Tourism Ms. Anajli Bhawra, Director Cultural Affairs Mr. Navtoj Pal Singh Randhawa, Director Local Government Mr. Priyank Bharti.
