NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Nirankari Mission, from time to time, not only motivates its devotees to contribute to social welfare by the means of blood donation, cleanliness drives, tree plantation drives and more, but also instilling in them the spirit of marrying in a simple manner, without any loudness and splurging.
In the presence of Nirankari Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj, during her first visit to Chandigarh, dated October 9, a couple was tied in wedlock at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhavan, Sector 15-A. The bridegroom, Sh. Kulwinder Singh of Sewadal unit number 393, son of late Sh. Balbir Singh was married to kumari Namrata, daughter of Suresh Kumar, who is a member of Sewadal unit of Mohali, number 168, in a simple yet blissful ceremony here.
The highlight of the wedding was that the couple and the two families entered into family life without any discrimination of caste, religion, or social status, in a very simple stated manner. The bride and the groom were dressed in Sewadal uniforms and were performing their duties at the satsang at the Niranakri Satsang Bhavan when Satguru Mataji blessed the couple by covering their heads with a ceremonious stole.
In this minimal wedding ceremony, apart from the solemn exchanging of garlands, a common garland was also put across the bride and the groom, as per the Nirankari Mission’s resplendent gesture. Devotees sang songs of happiness and joy, and Satguru Mataji also gave blessings to the newlywed couple in the form of flowers. There was no band or dowry in this wedding.
