NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : S A S Nagar will be a world class icon in coming two years as such, reputed industries of the city has joined hands with the district administration for providing a new look to the city. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while addressing the press near PTL Chowk during formal inauguration of development works worth Rs. 50 lacs initiated by Renowned Mahindra & Mahindra (Swaraj) Group under Swach Bharat Campaign.

Before this, Deputy Commissioner laid the foundation stone for toilet Block  worth Rs. 15lacs near phase 5 market ground. This toilet building besides ladies & gents toilets will also be having provision for handicap toilets. The work for this Block will get completed within two months. Then Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the Mobile Toilet Unit worth Rs. 10 lacs prepared by Mahindra & Mahindra. Deputy Commissioner also inaugurated the green belt prepared along with boundary wall of Mahindra & Mahindra. It is worth mentioning at here that green belt is equipped with 10 LED lights & various decorative flowery plants.

While addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner appealed the other industrial unit to contribute for Swach Bharat Campaign & to make green belt near to their industrial units. He appealed them to contribute for clean & green city under corporate social responsibilities. Deputy Commissioner praised the initiative of Mahindra & Mahindra and mentioned it as a unique initiative.During this, Sh. Viren Popli COO Mahindra & Mahindra said that our group is contributing under Corporate Social Responsibilities. He said that a special project named Mahindra Primary Health & Cancer Care Project has been started wherein free medicines & health facilities including tests are being provided to the cancer patients through mobile van. He said that Rs. 65 lacs 65 thousand stands spent for this project.
During this Municipal Commissioner Sh. Uma Shankar Gupta praised the works carried out by Mahindra & Mahindra and also assured for the contribution by other industries also. He said that special efforts are being done to strengthen the basic infrastructure of industrial sector. As such, Rs. 2 crore 5 lacs have been spent for laying premix on roads of industrial areas. During this Sh. Parmod Lamba Vice Chairman Mahindra & Mahindra welcomed the gathering.During this S. Joginder Singh Salaich President Akali Dal Urban, Sh. Sukhvinder SIngh Goldy District BJP President, S. Gurkirpal Singh President Mohali Industries Association, Former President Sh. Anurag Aggarwal, Councillor Sainbi Anand, Sh. Ashok Jha, Sh. S. K.
