NewZNew (Panchkula) : Doon Public School, A CBSE New Generation School, Sec 21, Panchkula, celebrated its Annual Day – ‘Endeavour 2015’ at the Inderdhanush Auditorium, Panchkula. The Chief Guest of the occasion as Vivek Atray, IAS, Director (Industries), Haryana. While the Guest of Honour was Latika Sharma, MLA (Kalka).
The programme started with a welcome song which was followed by an Introduction of Guests and then lighting of lamp was held, which formally inaugurated the colourful extravaganza. More than 600 students of the school took part.
To give an auspicious start to the event, a ‘Ganpati Vandana’ was performed by students which won hearts of the audience. The Annual Report was read out after this by the Principal and Vice Principal. The next showcase was a foot tapping performance by the School’s Bhangra team which won the 3rd Prize, at the Zonal Bhangra competition and was selected for State level championship. Running trophies were given out to victorious students after this. The highlight of the event was ‘Ek Subah’ a medley of dances highlighting social problems plaguing India like corruption, child labour, terrorism, child begging, eve teasing, inequality between males & females, clean India gave a message that it is only Indians and not any other people who will be able to solve these problems and that it is high time we do something about these.
“‘Endeavour 2015’- was a creative Cultural Extravaganza cum Prize Distribution function. Our students gave a very entertaining presentation but at the same time there was a serious concern shown for the social ills facing the Nation.” Said Capt Sanjay Anand, SM, Principal, Doon Public School, Panchkula.
As the grand finale the School song was sung by all students and staff members who came on the stage.
