Fortis Mohali empowers individuals with essential life support skills by offering CPR training this World Heart Day: Fortis Hospital, Mohali organized two CPR training sessions – ‘One Beat, One Life’, to mark the World Heart Day.
The sessions were organised at Sukhna Lake in the morning from 6:30 am to 8:00 am and CP67 Mall in Mohali in the evening from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, by trained clinical instructors from Fortis hospital to sensitize the people about essential life-saving skills to respond effectively to emergencies such as sudden cardiac arrests

The training session covered Basic Life Support (BLS) for unresponsive victims, including chest compressions, preparation for smooth victim transfer to hospitals, and triaging in cases of multiple casualties.
The Fortis Mohali team interacted with the general public through quizzes on heart health and medical emergencies, followed by a quick Zumba session and CPR training with trained clinical instructors. Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) was the tourism partner and Elevate was the fitness partner of the event.
Abhijit Singh, Head-SBU, Fortis Hospital Mohali, said, “As the leading healthcare provider in the region it is our duty to spread awareness on cardiac health by empowering people in basic life support skills and aid the prevention of sudden cardiac arrests by imparting CPR trainings. Immediate bystander CPR can double or triple a person’s chances of survival from cardiac arrest.”
