NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : A freshers’ party ‘Freshomania, 2015’ was held at Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali last night. The theme of the event was desi-videshi style. Being one colorful affair, the fresher’s bash thrown by the students rocked the evening for all the party attendees. The very purpose of it was to welcome new-comers in a friendly atmosphere to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence.
Hosted by the seniors, the program began with welcoming of Mr. K.S Brar, Director, NIIFT and Mr. Inderjit Singh, Registrar, NIIFT . This was followed by the usual introductory session of the participating students.
The eye catching moments were the dance performances that livened up the place with their mesmerizing performance. The highlight of the event was the Mr. and Miss Fresher contest in which the fresher’s walked the ramp gracefully and participated in many short listing rounds.
Karan from Textiles Department and Ishani from Garment Manufacturing Technology were selected Mr. and Miss Fresher’s respectively. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. The prizes of Mr. and Ms Fresher’s were partly sponsored by Bulbul, Stylist on demand.
The team-work of cultural committee headed by Ms. Meeta Gawri, HOD, Fashion Marketing & Management department could easily be recognized by the kind of arrangements they had made; be it food, DJ or hosting the party. All the seniors did their best to make the party a success.
The event ended up with a mash- up of students enjoying together as a whole big family to share love and happiness together and an evening to be cherished lifelong with a broad smile upon their face.
