Historic Brave Women Remembered through high-spirited performances in PanchkulaWomen from the tri-city area brought to life the stories of historic female warriors through dramatic performances, igniting a spirit of determination and empowerment among the audience.
The event was jointly organized by Sanskar Bharati Panchkula, Rashtra Sevika Samiti Panchkula, Samvardhini Nyas Panchkula, and the Government Post Graduate Girls College, Panchkula.
Women participants portrayed about fifty iconic women — from Vedic-era scholars such as Apala, Ghosha, Sulabha, Maitreyi, and Lopamudra to 1857 revolutionaries like Rani Durgavati, Rani Lakshmibai, Jhalkari Bai, Panna Dai, Rani Hadi, and Kumari Maina, as well as freedom fighters like Durga Bhabhi, Pritilata Waddedar, Hansa Mehta, and Neera Arya — showcasing their glorious contributions to Indian history.
This was the first time women from the city performed such historical roles on stage. The responsibility of training the performers was ably handled by female artists from Sanskar Bharati Panchkula — Monica Dhal, Arpana Gupta, and Meenu Alawadi.
The chief speaker of the event was Vijaya Bharati, a member of the National Human Rights Commission.
The special guests, social workers Vijay Garg and Sushma Garg, also praised the program and commended the participants for their inner strength.
The program was presided over by Gyan Chand Gupta, chief patron of Sanskar Bharati Panchkula, who thanked the organizing committee and said that the women of Panchkula had proven they could play a leading role in nation-building.
The chief guest was Shakti Rani Sharma, MLA of Kalka, who expressed her appreciation in her address.
