NewZNew (Chandigarh) : RIMT World School organized ‘Hues’ – the School’s Annual Science & Art exhibition at the school’s premises. The inauguration was done by Mr. D S Kapoor, Former Principal Government College of Arts, Chandigarh. Mr. Kapoor also presided over as the Chief Guest on the occasion. Students from Pre Primary to Class X; displayed their projects covering a series of Scientific concepts. In addition, the students showcased their creativity in the art and craft section.
Mrs. Poonam Katoch, Principal, RIMT World School, said, “The World needs energy, which in turn requires natural resources. So as responsible citizens we need to use natural recourses from mother earth judiciously to avoid a catastrophe of Global warming and other harmful effects of over manipulation of natural resources. There is an urgent need for man to turn to science & technology to fulfil our energy needs. In today’s Exhibition our students have tried to put this point across as vividly as is possible.”
The science wing of the exhibition had rightly showcased Nuclear and thermal power generation and also highlighted harmful effects of exploitation of natural resources. There was a Model on Global Warming and Structure of the Earth and biomes, a volcano model also was displayed. The advantages of judicious use of natural resources were highlighted. The concept of a modern city, benefit of use of piezoelectricity and robotics was also part of the exhibition.
In the Art & Craft section there were Pottery, Varli painting, paintings inspired by artists like Piccaso, Mosaic work, Pot painting etc. Pre Primary tiny tots had created a Jungle Scene which included wild animals, Four different seasons, forms of water, growth of telecommunications, marine life etc were also shown as Exhibits .
