Deputy Commissioner initiated a special campaign to remove illegal hoardings & temporary shops.
Strict action against poster, illegal hoardings & banners will be initiated as per Defacement of Property Act.
NewZNew (SAS Nagar) : SAS Nagar being the main entrance for the state of Punjab will be beautified & a new look will be provided to its main connecting roads. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while addressing the press during kicking off the campaign for removal of illegal hoardings & temporary shops from entry point of the city near furniture market. During this, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sh. Uma Shankar Gupta & other reputed persons were present.
Sh. Sidhu said that during the first phase of this campaign, illegal hoardings & temporary shops will be removed from main entry points of the city. Then after, entire city will be taken up. Sh. Sidhu said that the campaign will be reviewed weekly for smooth function. During this, Sh. Sidhu directed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to initiate strict action against the persons for displaying illegal hoardings & bearing temporary shops. He said that strict action will be taken against the person individual or an organisation for displaying illegal & unauthorised banners. During this, Commissioner Municipal Corporation assured to take strict action as directed & also said that the illegal hoardings & temporary shops will be got removed within next 15 days. During this, he appealed the general public to submit their property tax for the financial year 2014-2015 till 15 March 2015. He especially appealed that 10% rebate will be given to the individual property owner by Punjab Govt. for filling the property tax before 15 March.
Before this, Deputy Commissioner reviewed the campaign initiated for removing illegal banners & hoardings from road sides of national highway. During this, Sh. Sidhu said that if any illegal banner/ hoarding found within the Jurisdiction of NHAI, Municipal Council Limits, Nagar Panchayat, Central Works Division and within the jurisdiction of PWD, than necessary action will be initiated against the responsible department. Deputy Commissioner directed to ensure the adherence of orders given by Hon’ble High Court for removal of illegal hoardings & boards.
