In a recent review meeting, local government minister Balkar Singh instructed officials to expedite ongoing projects : Local Government Minister Balkar Singh conducted a review meeting with Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayat in Kharar, Kurali, Nayagaon, Dera Basi, Lalru, Zirakpur, Banur, Gharun, SAS Nagar, Rupnagar, Nangal, Kiratpur Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Morinda, Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Sirhind-Fathigarh Sahib, Gobindgarh, Amloh, Khamanon, and Bassi Pathana at Municipal Bhawan Sector-35 Chandigarh. Officials were instructed to expedite ongoing projects.
During the meeting, the Local Government Minister reviewed the space availability for the sewage treatment plant under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the status of projects under the Amrut Mission, allocated funds, and other works. He emphasized ensuring quality and transparency in development works and shared detailed information about works and funds under various schemes with the MLAs.
Minister urged officials to share all development work information with MLAs to align with residents’ needs. He emphasized the purchase of necessary equipment/machinery for cleaning and encouraged the preparation of action plans for additional funds if needed. He assured that the government has sufficient funds for development works.
Balkar Singh emphasized the commitment of the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, to make the state prosperous. He urged officials to work collaboratively to achieve this goal.
Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh directed officials to promptly spend unused funds under various schemes. Strict orders were given for appropriate action against officials not adhering to spending guidelines. He stressed immediate resolution of difficulties encountered in development works by notifying concerned MLAs and district administration.
Minister reiterated the importance of quality and transparency in development works. Present at the occasion were MLAs Lakhbir Singh Rai, Rupinder Singh Happy, Kuljit Singh Randhawan, Dinesh Kumar Chadha, Dr. Charanjit Singh, along with representatives of MLAs, Secretary Local Government Ajoy Sharma, PMIDC CEO Deepti Uppal, Director of Local Government Department Uma Shankar Gupta, EOs of Municipal Council and Municipal Panchayats and other senior officials of Department.
