Institute of Management c/o DAV College Sector 10 Organised a special lecture by Dr. Kanu Priya Mohan from Behavioural Science Research Institute, Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr Kanupriya has been associated with Srinakharinwirot University since 2009. She is a certified counselor and a great researcher. Her area of interest include applied behavior science, organizational behavior, work psychology. She has taught students of diverse nations and cultures. She is visiting faculty with many international universities in faculty of business management. She is also the chief editor of International Journal of Behaviour Science. Dr Kanupriya has been trainer in various reputed organizations for organizational development. She is a certified coaching and mentoring professional since 2011.
 She delivered the lecture on the topic “Manager as Mentor and coach”. Dr. Kanupriya highlighted the role of manager as leader and counselor in an organization.
 The  eminent speaker  highlighted the changing roles of manager due to the highly dynamic business environment. Coaching and mentoring can enhance morale, motivation and productivity and can thus reduce staff turnover. The individuals feel valued and connected with their organization due to effective mentoring.The lecture was interactive and the students were given an international exposure of the management across cultures. Dr. BC Josan, Prof Vidhu Mohan and all the faculty members highly appreciated the speaker. Dr Josan added that The department is always eager to organize such lectures of international standard which greatly contributes in achieving our vision of imparting high quality Management Education.
To conclude the lecture the students were given ample time to clear their doubts. Dr Kanupriya demonstrated the real life situations by enacting small role play exercises portraying the roles of manager in the present scenario. The students were left spellbound by the enlightening lecture but due to the time constraint the lecture had to be concluded in two hours. Thus coaching and mentoring are two important processes that enable individuals to achieve their full potential.
