Jumbo kite flying at Ireo Waterfront by international & national kite flyers like Mehul Pathak, Rajendra Pathak & Pradeep Shah
NewZNew (Ludhiana – Kulbir Singh Kalsi) : It was a morning of fun and games for more than a 1000 Ludhianvis who came out to a day of kite flying at the sprawling 500-acre Ireo Waterfront township campus, on Sidhwan Canal Road. The event was held to celebrate Makar Sankranti, the festival of the harvest, with good cheer. People of various age-groups, from different professions, and locations within the city gathered to fly colorful kites together.
The highlight of the day was Jumbo Kite flying by international kite flyers Mehul Pathak, Rajendra Pathak, Pradeep Shah, Jitendrakumar Pathak, Gopal Patel, etc which left the visitors in awe by flying designer kites of various shapes, including Neather Snake 100 meter flat, 15 meter komodo dragon inflatable, 100 meter spongers inflatable, Octopus inflatable, 40 meter king cobra flat kite, ring kite cercoflex and other intriguing things. Mehul has represented India at kite festivals held in Malaysia, Dubai, Singapore, Srilanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan and Australia.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Madhukar Tulsi, President at Ireo, commented: “With the commencement of handover of the first villas and plots in Phase 1 & 2 at this world class 500-acre township, it is heartening to witness Ireo Waterfront turning into an epicenter for cultural and social happenings”.

All the guests and their families were welcomed with kites and thread as a complimentary gift. There was plenty of indulgence for the entire family including dedicated kids game zone, shopping arcade and tempting food stalls. People grooved to live music performance and foot tapping songs, which was interrupted only by people shouting “Wo katta!” Couples and children participated in spot games like tongue twisters, musical chairs, lucky dip, treasure hunt and a spot Bollywood quiz among other exciting activities.
Children had a day of merriment with camel rides, games’ stalls and so on. They also part-took in a kite-flying training session, where different varieties of kites were distributed.
