Joel Kinnaman is off to the City of Saints for his next drama series. Production of Prime Video’s thriller series ‘Bishop’ is set to begin in Montreal, Quebec, in May 2026. Little Marvin is the showrunner, and Tony Salzman is one of the writers. Kinnaman is the sole announced cast member.
The story revolves around Homicide detective Bishop Graves (Kinnaman). This highly skilled and war-torn individual tests his abilities to pursue a slippery serial killer who has been hunting San Francisco’s elite. As the killer increasingly gains a devoted base among the city’s powerless and lesser classes, Bishop sees how these killings are linked and they point towards the city’s most influential man, Lincoln Graves. Surprisingly, Lincoln is Bishop’s father. Joel Kinnaman has also played an array
of characters recently, the most prominent of which are Frank Shaw in ‘The Silent Hour,’ Brian Godlock in ‘Silent Night,’ the Driver in ‘Sympathy for the Devil,’ and Colonel Rick Flag in ‘The Suicide Squad.’ Fans keep track of him by remembering Takeshi Kovacs from Netflix’s ‘Altered Carbon,’ Edward Baldwin from Apple TV+’s ‘For All Mankind,’ and Erik Heller from Prime Video’s ‘Hanna.’ Kinnaman’s latest works include Stefan Ruzowitzky’s thriller film ‘Ice Fall,’ depicting a Native American game warden discovering a ton of money at a crash site from a poacher; the TNT drama series
‘Debriefing the President,’ which follows the first American to interrogate Saddam Hussein; and the Netflix crime drama series ‘Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole,’ adapted from Nesbo’s Harry Hole novels. Montreal was home to productions such as ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,’ ‘The Recruit,’ ‘Alert: Missing Persons Unit,’ and ‘Three Pines.’ Future productions to be filmed in the area are the CBS pilot ‘DMV,’ and ‘The Housewife,’ a thriller featuring Naomi Watts and Tye Sheridan, and Claire Scanlon’s rom-com ‘The Love Hypothesis.’ Read More: Tulsa King Season 4 Begins Production in Atlanta and Oklahoma this November
