The film was bankrolled by Vamsi-Pramod and KE Gnanavel Raja under the production banners UV Creations and Studio Green.

Bollywood diva Disha Patani plays a female lead role in the film. It is the first collaboration of Siruthai Siva and Suriya. The film was shot in 3D, and it will be released in 10 languages.

Kanguva is currently filming its final schedule. According to sources, the post-production work starts in June 2023. The makers planning to release the film in two parts. The first part of Suriya 42 may hit the screens this December 2023.

Kanguva Story

It seems like a 1000-year-old backstory, in which a warrior in 1678 died due to a disease. In the present, a girl does research on the disease which killed the warrior. The film was shot in Goa and Chennai.

According to sources, the action-filled periodic drama was sold to streaming giant Netflix. It is said the movie made more than Rs 500 crore in revenue before its theatrical release.

Sources said that SUN TV had bagged the satellite rights of the film.

The makers didn’t disclose any budget for the film. But, KE Gnanavel Raja said that this is the top most high-budget film in Suriya’s career.
