Organized by Genesis Foundation, the festival is an annual fund-raiser in aid of critically ill children
NewZNew (Kasauli) : With clouds hovering over the hills and the cool breeze setting the mood for the beginning of a musical weekend, the much-anticipated Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival (KRBF) began on a high note today! For the fifth year in a row, the beautiful hill town of Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh witnessed people coming from across the country to listen to some of the best-known Indian independent bands and artists. The three-day-long music extravaganza is on at Baikunth Resorts, Kasauli from March 25-27, 2016.
#KasauliRnB has developed a cult following and is considered among the most popular music festivals in the country*. The Festival has emerged as an important event for established and upcoming singers and bands to perform at every year.
Day 1 of the Festival has so far witnessed enthralling performances by Frisky Pints and Tabla Maestro & Sultan of Strings, featuring Ustaad Fazal Qureshi and Ravi Iyer. Frisky Pints kick-started the Festival at high tempo with their high-energy pop performance. Their originals Aye I Owe You, Vain, Goose Chase and the Frisky Song got the audience up on their feet and dancing in no time. Their cover of the popular Uptown Funk had everyone singing along.
Keeping the energy levels high, but in a more Indian way, Tabla Maestro & Sultan of Strings (FEAT. Ustaad Fazal Qureshi, Ravi Iyer with special guest Pt. Ravi Chary on Sitar) had the audience spellbound with the beat of the tabla and the sizzling sitar. Together these artists and their performances made for a perfect start to the much-awaited long weekend.
Joseph Laldinsanga, Lead Artist, Frisky Pints, said, “I’m really excited to be here for Kasauli Rhythm and Blues in aid of critically ill underprivileged children, which is the cause of Genesis Foundation. I loved the energy of the audience and had a great time playing at the venue. We were here to spread some love and play some good music, and that’s what we did!”
Ustaad Fazal Qureshi, Tabla Maestro & Sultan of Strings (FEAT. Ustaad Fazal Qureshi, Ravi Iyer with special guest Pt. Ravi Chary on Sitar) said, “We are here to perform at Kasauli Rhythm and Blues and are especially excited to be playing for the cause that Genesis Foundation supports. The whole atmosphere is amazing and we really enjoyed performing here in the hills. We look forward to the other performances as well.”
In order to raise awareness and resources to facilitate medical assistance to GF Kids, Genesis Foundation has created unusual and unique participative fundraising events involving music, art and food. Apart from KRBF, the events include are Goa Rhythm & Blues Festival, CEOs Cook for GF Kids, CEOs Sing for GF Kids, Music for Life events, among others. GF is also the beneficiary of CEO’s Got Talent, produced by FremantleMedia.
