NewZNew (Chandigarh) : First day of Sub-National Immunization Round scheduled in U.T. Chandigarh on 22nd observed good coverage of pulse polio in 0-5 Years Children covering 47966 and 88696 Houses including high risk areas The activity will be continued tomorrow to cover left out areas and the children left uncovered in the 159 high risk areas of Chandigarh including slums, Nomads construction site, settled HRA(High Risk area) & transit points. In addition to the health staff, Police Personnel and the students from Nursing colleges and other educational institutions participated in this activity.
There are 17 Transit Points in addition to the High Risk Areas i.e. Dhillon Barrier, Mullanpur Barrier, Barrier Near Civil Hospital Phase-6, Janta Colony Sector-25, ISBT-17,ISBT-43, PCA Barrier & Sector-49, Marbal Market Barrier Sector-52, Zirakpur Barrier, Rose Garden, Airport Behlana, Railways Station, Ex Site Colony No. 5(Area Near Labour Chowk), Colony No.4 ,Resettlement Colony Dhanas, Bus Stand Manimajra. Dr. V.K. Gagneja, Director Health and Family Welfare appreciated the efforts and hard work of all the teams at ground level & especially appreciated Home guards from department of police who participated in the absence of the Anganwari workers for success of the campaign.
