Kumail Nanjiani is known for his fun wit, which won him big screen fame. He began as a stand-up comic & soon was on shows like ‘Michael & Michael Have Issues’ & ‘The Colbert Report’. He was also in movies like ‘The Five-Year Engagement’ & ‘Hell Baby.’ It was 2017 when Nanjiani hit a big moment.

1. Only Murders in the Building Season 5 (Sept 9, 2025)

Hulu has made ‘Only Murders in the Building’ new for Year 5 (10 shows). We do not know more yet, but we think that Steve Martin, Martin Short, & Selena Gomez will be back. Other stars that may come back for Year 5 are Nanjiani as Rudy Thurber & Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin. 2. Ella McCay (Dec 12, 2025)

Nanjiani joins James L. Brooks’ new film ‘Ella McCay’ by 20th Century Studios. The film shows a young hopeful leader fix her home life & work life as she gets ready to take on the job of her old boss. 3. The Breadwinner (March 13, 2026)

Nanjiani will act with Will Forte & Mandy Moore in Eric Appel’s film ‘The Breadwinner.’ Written by Nate Bargatze & Dan Lagana, a mom bags a Shark Tank deal & swaps roles with her man. He tries hard to be a stay-at-home dad to their 3 girls. Also with Martin Herlihy, Zach Cherry, Kate Berlant, Colin Jost, & Nate Bargatze. Filming is on, & the movie will be out on March 13, 2026.

4. Thread: An Insidious Tale (Aug 21, 2026)

Nanjiani is set to star in ‘Thread: An Insidious Tale,’ a new part of the ‘Insidious’ film run. The film is about a pair who use a spell to go back in time. They aim to stop their young girl from dying. Yet, they must deal with bad ends from what they do. Nanjiani & Mandy Moore play the pair. The rest of the cast is still a secret. The new film is said to stem from the ‘Insidious’ line. It won’t go on with the old tale. Jeremy Slater pens it & will direct. He wrote for ‘The Lazarus Effect’ & ‘Fantastic Four.’ They plan to start shots in Sep 2025. The release date is set for Aug 21, 2026.

5. Driver’s Ed (TBA)

Nanjiani stars with Sam Nivola, Alyssa Milano, & Molly Shannon in Bobby Farrelly’s film ‘Driver’s Ed.’ Thomas Moffett wrote it. It’s about teens who nab their school’s driver’s ed car to help a boy find & win back his girl. The film is done & will be out in Canada on Sept 12, 2025. The US date is yet to come.

6. The Wrong Girls (TBA)

Dylan Meyer is now in on the post-works of ‘The Wrong Girls.’ It’s about two young girls. They get mind-talk skills when they take a test drug. This puts them up ‘gainst those who want the same strong drug. In the film, Nanjiani will show up with Kristen Stewart, Alia Shawkat, Seth Rogen, LaKeith Stanfield, Tony Hale & Zack Fox. ‘The Wrong Girls’ has to set a date to come out.

7. A Guy Walks into a Bar (TBA)

Nanjiani will act with Sam Rockwell in Gary Fleder’s fun film ‘A Guy Walks into a Bar.’ The tale, by Scott Rosenberg, tracks a soft new dad (Nanjiani). He makes a new friend (Rockwell) at a bar.
