Kumar Bandhu enthralled the audiences with Sufi Kalam


newznew (Chandigarh) : Noted Sufi and devotional singers of the region Kumar Bandhu(Anup Kumar and Hemant Kumar) today presented their Sufi Kalam programme organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs of Chandigarh administration in  Naad Vatika, in Rose Garden. Hundreds of listners including tourists enjoyed the singing skills of Kumar Bandhu duo.

Kumar Bandhu started the programme with  famous kalam of Hazrat Amir Khusro ‘Chhap tilak sab Chhini tose naina milaike. After this kalam they sang beautifully Baba Bulley Shah’s kalam ‘Sade val mukhda mod ve’ composed in raag Todi. Another Kalam of Bulley Shah ‘Jis tan lageya ishq kamaal’ in raag Yaman, was much appreciated by the audience. Kumar Bandhu kept enthralling the audience by Sufi Kalam like ‘Tere ishq nachaaya’, ‘Tu mane ya na maane dildara’,‘Nee main kamli haan’, ‘Nit Khai manga and Akhiyan udik diyan.  Kumar Bandhu concluded the programme with the popular Sufi kalaam ‘Damadam mast Kalander’.

Prof.Murli Dar Soni on harmonium, Debashish Dhar on tabla, DharmPal on Dholak, Lokesh on keyboard and Suresh on octopad accompnied the singers.
