NewZNew (Chandigarh) : The Gurukul Vidyapeeth Institute of Engineering & Technology organized 2 days extravaganza the “Crescendo 2015. During the celebration the major attraction was the rocking performance by known singerof punjab “Lakhwinder Wadali” who enthraled the audience with the song like “ Meri ghyo di mitthi churi lokan badnam kar di”. Many dignitaries including Mr. Surender Singh, Deputy chief news editor, punjabi tribune, SP Atinder Pal Singh Crime Branch Patiala, Dr. Baljinder Chaudhary Chairman, Gyan Sagar Medical College and Dr. Shailender CEO Gyan Sagar Medical College graced the occasion.
The other events performed by the students of Gurukul Vidyapeeth and other prominent colleges were folk dances, Fashion Bash, singing, solo dance, gaming war zone, mehandi Mania, tongue twister, treasure hunt, and Roadies etc. Cultural Fest was a culmination of dance and drama. Haryanavi, Punjabi, and Himachali folk dances delighted the audience.
Dr. Manmohan Kumar Garg, Chairman, Gurukul Vidyapeeth addressed gathering of more than 3000 students. Dr. Manmohan Kumar Garg stated that the inter college cultural fests encourage talent from different colleges and provide a platform to encourage healthy competition among the budding engineers. He also said that Indian education system has changed many folds over last few decades. While professional and technical courses have surged both in numbers and quality. As overall learning in cultural and ethical aspects have declined. As such, Crescendo 2015 shows commendable efforts by the management and students of Gurukul Vidyapeeth. He voiced his appreciation for the organizer of the different events. He also appreciated the commitment of the people in this fest to make it successful.
Dr. S C Jain, Vice President Gurukul Vidyapeeth said that the theme chosen for this year’s ‘Crescendo 2015’ is in accordance with the pledge taken by Gurukul to produce engineers with a conscience. We want students from all the institutes to reflect upon the responsibilities this profession demands today. He further added that at Gurukul we follow the ancient Gurukul system of education and at the same time we try to inculcate modern values clubbed with quality teaching which will enable our students to deal with the trials and tribulations which life throws at them.
Mr. Ramanjeet Singh, Additional Director Gurukul Vidyapeeth said that he was very impressed by the performance of the students, both on stage and off stage. Their camaraderie and good will towards each other and the visitors was heart warming to see and he wished them all the very best in life.
The student Chief coordinator of the three clubs in the college; ‘The Originators’, ‘The Crafters’ and ‘The Mentors’ Mr. Navin Rana said that the credit for the first day of success of this event goes to the dedicated team of more than 50 students who had volunteered to work on the various aspects of the fest.
The event was concluded with the valedictory speech by Dr. Manmohan Kumar Garg Chairman followed by prize distribution ceremony.

- Adiare Dance Academy Chandigarh for Western Dance
- Atul & Aditya of Gurukul Vidyapeeth for best solo Dance
- Seven Chords group for best war of bands.
