NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Home Appliances leader, LG Electronics India, today announced the winners of its first zonal round of its Pan-India cooking contest, LG Mallika-E-Kitchen 2014. The first North Zonal round was hosted in the vibrant city of Chandigarh at Hotel KLG Starlite.
Aimed to encourage and educate Indian women to adopt smart and healthy microwave cooking, this year the campaign reached thousands of participants in around 62 cities across India. The cooking contest has been conceptualized to provide an opportunity to Indian women to showcase their cooking talent at a national level.
Winners of the northern zone, Ms. Simran From Lucknow (Winner), Ms. Madhu Singh From Varanasi (2nd Runner-Up) and Ms Seema Aggarwal From Kota (3rd Runner Up) now complete with contestants of other zones for the title of Mallika-E-Kitchen Cooking Queen 2014 at the Grand Finale in New Delhi on December 12, 2014.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lokendra Lal – Regional Manager, North Region, LG India said; “We are pleased to successfully complete the Zonal round of LG Mallika-e-Kitchen 2014 and proceed on to the Grand Finale. Mallika-e-Kitchen is an endeavor to promote healthy cooking talents in India. This contest gives an opportunity to directly reach out to consumers and get feedback and suggestions for future innovations.”
He further added; “This platform provides opportunity to amateur cooking talents of India, to showcase their skills. The phenomenal response received over the last 5 years for this campaign has encouraged us to bring out technologies for our consumers based on the insights garnered through this platform.”
About Mallika-E-Kitchen Cooking Contest:
LG Mallika-E-Kitchen Cooking Contest is an annual property which was started in 2009 with an aim to promote healthy living and thereby, educate and inform the Indian home makers about the importance of healthy cooking and eating. Any Indian woman above the age of 18 years who purchases a LG Microwave Oven during the period starting from 25th August 2014 till 25th October2014 is eligible to enter the LG Mallika-E-Kitchen Cooking Contest by simply filling a registration form. The form will be available at all LG Brand shops, authorized dealers and can also be filled online on the LG India website. The participants will be contacted by LG representatives for the confirmation of the venue and date of the Local Level round. On the contest date, the participants will be required to bring pre-cooked microwave dishes along with the written recipes. If the recipe is selected by the panel of judges on set parameters, then the selected person will qualify for the Zonal Level round, along with a 100 per cent cashback* of their Microwave Oven. A total of three winners will be selected from each Zonal Level round. Finally, the Zonal round winners will compete at a national level contest to be selected as LG’s Mallika-E-Kitchen, winning grand prizes worth lakhs of rupees.
