NewZNew (Chandigarh) : PUNBUS and Punjab Roadways today signed an agreement with M/s Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for discount of 4O paisa per litre on supply of Diesel to both organisations.
While disclosing this spokesman of Punjab Roadways said that Punbus and Punjab Roadways have successfully negotiated diesel rates and finalised a discount of 40 paisa per litre for 3 years on the existing diesel rates.
He said that this discount is one of the highest discount offered by IOC to State Transport Undertakings in the region and will result in a saving of over Rs. 4.5 crores. He said that an agreement was signed between Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi , IAS, Director State Transport, Punjab- cum’ Managing Director PUNBUS and Mr. Prem Kumar, Chief Divisional Consumer Sales Marketing , Chandigarh of M/s Indian Oil Corporation. The agreement was signed in the office of Director State Transport,Punjab and will be effective for a period of 3 years w.e.f. 01.07.2015.
He further said that M/s India Oil Corporation Limited has also agreed to provide additional infrastructure like digital tyre inflators and online diesel monitoring dispensing units for effective monitoring of diesel, which will help reduce pilferage and result in saving to Punjab Roadways and Punbus
