Mitti Di Khushboo“, a 10-day Baisakhi Food Festival at JW Marriott Chandigarh, will fill the air with the heavenly aromas of earthy Punjabi cuisine. Laying out a lavish spread, The Cafe@JW, the all-day dining restaurant at JW Marriott Chandigarh, will serve authentic delicacies handpicked from Malwa, Majha and Doaba, the three major regions of Punjab, for dinner from April 7 to April 16, 2017. Apart from the regular dinner, there will be cyclic menus from the three regions as part of the “Mitti Di Khushboo” festival.

Gastronomical wonders such as Chana Dal Aur Methi, Gud Ka Paratha, Mutter Ke Parathe, Patiala Chicken, Barni Ka Gosht, Masaledar Petha Haneri, Achari Zimikand, Ajwaini Arbi, Mutter Ka Halwa and Khus Khus ka Halwa, among others, will take the guests on an epicurean trip through the fields and farmlands of Punjab. The guests can also relish authentic beverages like Chass, Mango Lassi, Sugar Cane Juice and Sattu.

“The harvest festival of Baisakhi signifies the hard labour and dedication of the farmers towards their work in the fields and a celebration of the harvesting of crops, the fruit of their labour. It also marks the historic Khalsa Sirjana Divas as well as the beginning of the Punjabi New Year. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we are organising the ‘Mitti Di Khushboo’ Baisakhi Food Festival to show our appreciation of the rich heritage of Punjab and the pious bond that its inhabitants have with its soil. Throughout this festival, our guests will get to savour delicacies which are renowned for their Punjabi roots,” said Mr Dilpreet Bindra, General Manager, JW Marriott Chandigarh.

Apart from the food festival, there will be other attractions to warm the hearts of the patrons. The guests will be greeted by traditional phulkaris adorning the walls of the restaurant the moment they reach The Cafe@JW through a village-themed entrance. Once inside, the guests will find stalls of bangles, Punjabi Jutti, Mehendi and Phulkari, emanating the joyous vibes of a traditional “Baisakhi Mela”. The restaurant staff will be decked in traditional Punjabi attire to welcome the guests.

You can savour this delicious meal for dinner, priced at INR 1699 per person (exclusive of taxes), from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm at The Café@JW. You can also call at 0172-3955555 or +91 998 889 8309 to reserve your table.
