Neera Loomba Foundation Extends Support to Chandi Kusth Ashram with Essential Food Supplies: On the occasion of the 72nd birth anniversary of Mrs. Neera Loomba, the Neera Loomba Foundation carried out a heartfelt food donation drive at Chandi Kusth Ashram in Chandigarh — a home to over 160 individuals and families affected by leprosy.
As part of this initiative, the Foundation provided essential supplies of rice and sugar — enough to support the residents for the next couple of weeks. More than the donation itself, the drive focused on human connection: Foundation volunteers spent quality time engaging with the residents, listening to their stories, and creating a space of warmth and dignity.
“The real impact begins when we stop looking away,” said Dr. Aditi Loomba, Founder of the Neera Loomba Foundation. “We want to ensure these food drives become more regular, reaching people who are often forgotten. It’s not just about what we give, but how deeply we connect.”
Ms Vandana Tripathi, who was present during the drive, shared, “Being here today was a powerful reminder that empathy is action. Every conversation we had, every smile we received — it’s something that stays with you.”
Ms Pragya, who also took part in the initiative, added, “We often underestimate what presence can mean. Just showing up with compassion can bring light to places long left in the dark.”
The Foundation continues to focus on bringing care and compassion to the margins – one drive, one conversation, one smile at a time.
