NewZNew (Chandigarh) : The star cast of “Zed Plus” Hindi movie visited Chandigarh today. The stars interacted with the media at Jia Diamonds showroom. The film is directed by Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi. The film will be released on 28 November.
Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s is known for directing the television epic Chanakya (1991) in which he also played the title role of the political strategist Chanakya. His other major work is the highly acclaimed and national award winning film Pinjar (2003), a tragic love story set amidst the Hindu-Muslim tensions during the Partition of India, based on Amrita Pritam’s novel of the same name. He has also directed the TV series Miryunjay (1996), which is based on the life of Karna, from the epic Mahabharat, and he won a Screen Videocon Best Director award for the same. His recent show Upanishad Ganga was also received very well.
Zed Plus story is set in contemporary India in a small town of Rajasthan. A coalition Government, troubled by corruption and communalism, is on the verge of collapsing due to infights of the coalition partners. All the ministers are making efforts to save the gov. But still…..it appears that Govt will fall.
In this time of political crisis the Prime Minister gets a call from one of his coalition partners who offers him the “perfect solution”. The solution is that Prime Minister should visit a Dargah, popularly known as Peepal Wale Peer Ki Dargah in Fatehpur – a small town of Rajasthan. Prime Minsister should offer a “chaddar” and bow his head in respect of the peer and Government would be saved. Will a Prime Minister, fighting communalism, visit a Dargah to save his Government?
Having exhausted all options, the PM decides to pay a visit the Dargah. Suddenly a sleeping town wakes up to welcome the PM. He visits the dargah and by chance he meets a puncturewala – Aslam. The highest authority of the country meets the lowest denominator of the society. Some strange conversation follows between a PM and a ‘puncturewala’ and entire nation is surprised to learn that a ‘puncturewala’ has been given Zed Plus security by the PM.
