Taking an important decision in the interest of sanitation workers on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Kabir Das Ji, Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini announced an increase of Rs 2100 in their monthly salary. Apart from this, he also announced to build a 100-bed de-addiction center in Sant Sarsai Nath Medical College being built in Sirsa. Also, he announced to increase the number of beds from 10 to 30 in the de-addiction center located in Dabwali and to build a new 30-bed de-addiction center near the government hospital in Ellenabad.

The Chief Minister was addressing the people present at the Sant Shiromani Kabir Das Jayanti state-level function organized in district Sirsa today under the Sant-Mahapurusha Samman and Vichar Prachar Prasar Yojana. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to give Rs 31 lakh. He said that the government has resolved in its Sankalp Patra to increase the salary of sanitation workers to 26 thousand in a phased manner in 5 years, the government is committed to this. We will fulfill what we have said in the Sankalp Patra.

The Chief Minister said that Sant Kabir was the bearer of the tradition of ‘Sarvadharma Sambhaav’ and ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ of Indian culture and was a precious gem of history. He was born at a time when our society was caught in superstitions, casteism and orthodox traditions. Sant Kabir achieved a respectable place through his deeds. He was the most courageous social reformer of his time. He strongly attacked the evils and orthodoxies of all religions.

He said that saints, sages, saints, prophets and gurus like Sant Kabir Das Ji have shown the true path of life to the lost humanity. The teachings of such great personalities are the heritage of the entire human society. It is the responsibility of all of us to handle and preserve their heritage.

Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has always described the thoughts of Sant Kabir Ji as the foundation of modern India. Taking forward the ideas of Sant Kabir ji, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has played a major role in the creation of modern India after independence. In the last 11 years, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the government has worked to empower and strengthen the poor by running welfare schemes.

He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Haryana Government has also implemented many schemes and policies for the upliftment of every section of the society, following the basic mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’.

The Chief Minister said that the basic philosophy of our government is ‘Antyodaya’, the upliftment of the last person standing in the line. This is the path of Sant Kabir, this is the basis of our policies. Today our triple engine government is moving forward on the path shown by Sant Kabir at three times the speed. He said that when the Supreme Court’s decision came on the provision of reservation for ‘Deprived Scheduled Caste’, the Haryana Government worked to implement that decision in the state and gave the DSC community its right.

Welfare of Safai Karamcharis

The Chief Minister said that the government has constituted the Haryana State Safai Karamchari Commission to protect the interests of the Safai Karamcharis. Safety and dignity has been guaranteed for the Safai Karamcharis. A provision has been made for an insurance amount of Rs 5 lakh in case of death of Safai Karamcharis during their duty and Rs 10 lakh in case of death while working in sewerage. Apart from this, more than 5 thousand Safai Karamcharis employed through agencies have been taken on the roll of the concerned municipality.

He said that under the Chief Minister Marriage Shagun Yojana, 2 lakh 60 thousand daughters of poor families of Scheduled Castes were given a shagun amount of Rs 71-71 thousand on their marriage. Under the ‘Ambedkar Awas Renovation Scheme’, Rs 80 thousand are being given to the Scheduled Caste people living below the poverty line for house repair. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 416 crore has been given to 76,985 beneficiaries so far.

Chief Minister called upon people to adopt the teachings of Sant Kabir in their lives, rise above casteism and discrimination and contribute towards nation building

Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that today, the spirit of Sant Kabir resides in every scheme, every policy, every decision of the government implemented with the spirit of ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek’. The words of Sant Kabir are as relevant today as they were at that time. He called upon the citizens to take a pledge that we will take the teachings of Sant Kabir to the masses. We will not only remember his teachings, but will also incorporate them in our conduct. Rising above casteism, discrimination, high-low, we will move towards ‘Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat’.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini gave the DSC community its rights – Krishna Kumar Bedi

On this occasion, Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (Seva) Minister Shri Krishna Kumar Bedi said that the teachings of great men like Sant Kabir are extremely relevant for today’s society. He gave the message of truth, equality, brotherhood and humanity, which is the duty of all of us to spread among the people.

He said that the Supreme Court’s decision came in the month of August and the first decision to implement the decision in favor of the DSC community was taken by the government of Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini. He said that the DSC community had to struggle for years. This issue was raised many times before other governments and Chief Ministers, but instead of a solution, only assurances and agitations were received. The leaders of the community had to protest and many agitators had to go to jail. But the dream which was once incomplete, has been realized by the present government.

He said that this event is not just a birth anniversary, but a symbol of social change. The previous governments did not give importance to the tradition of celebrating the birth anniversaries of social saints and great men, while the present government made a new beginning, under which the birth anniversaries of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Sant Ravidas, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Sant Kabir and other great men are being celebrated at the state level.

Government is walking on the path of Sant Kabir – Mohan Lal Kaushik

Addressing the function, BJP State President Mr. Mohan Lal Kaushik said that this day is not only the birth anniversary of a great man, but also the day of remembrance of a great man who showed the path of harmony by raising the society above casteism and discrimination. He said that the thoughts of Sant Kabir still inspire and Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini is taking all sections of the society along in accordance with his principles.

He said that the Chief Minister has not only empowered the OBC community, but has also emerged as the voice of the poor, backward and deprived. He laid special emphasis on the fact that when the Haryana government was formed for the third time, the first decision of the cabinet was taken in the interest of the rights of the DSC community. This government does not only make promises, but works on the ground.

He said that the government has pledged to provide employment opportunities to 5 lakh youth in its manifesto, work is being done rapidly in that direction. He said that in the coming times, more big decisions will be taken in the field of employment, education and respect in the interest of the society.

Haryana government is working for the welfare of every section with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ – Sunita Duggal

Program coordinator, former MP Mrs. Sunita Duggal said that Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini has given a new identity, a new strength to the exploited and deprived society for years. She said that the Chief Minister is constantly dedicated to public service and is working for the welfare of every section with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. Referring to the teachings of Sant Kabir, she said that just as Sant Kabir rose above caste discrimination and considered humanity supreme, the Chief Minister is taking the entire society along with him in the same spirit.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, Mr. Ranbir Gangwa, Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Subhash Barala, MLA Mr. Kapoor Valmiki, Mr. Randhir Panihar, Swami Swadesh Kabir, former Minister Mr. Anoop Dhanak, former Minister Mr. Devendra Babli and former MLA Mr. Dudaram along with other dignitaries were present.
