Online Payments Amounting To More Than 320 Crore Released To Farmers

NewZNew (Chandigarh) : The Punjab government has made online payments of Rs. 320 crore 65 lakhs 54 thousand and 159 till date to the farmers against the purchase of their crop by different procurement agencies during the ongoing paddy procurement in the state. Total 7421 entries were recorded. The payment has been made regularly in accordance with the guidelines fixed by the government of India. This was stated here today a spokesman of the government.

Meanwhile 115.90 Lakh M tonne of paddy has been procured till last evening. Out of the total paddy procured, 114.02lakh M tonnes  (98. 4%)  was procured by the government agencies and private agencies procured 1.88 lakh M tonnes (1.6%). Out of the government agencies, PUNGRAIN procured 36.06 lakh M tonnes(31.6%), MARKFED procured 26.49 L M tonnes (23.2%), PUNSUP 25.58 Lakh M tonnes (22.4%), PSWC 11.14 Lakh M tonnes (9.8%) and PAFC 11.94 Lakh M tonnes(10.5%). The central government agency FCI could procure 2.80 Lakh M tonnes (2.5%) of paddy till last evening.
