PCA ready to start his marque event Maharaja Ranjit Singh Cup: The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) is set to host the Maharaja Ranjit Singh T20 Cup, a premier T20 tournament beginning on September 7 at the I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

The tournament will feature six formidable teams competing in a league format, with two matches scheduled daily from September 7 to 13. The top teams will then advance to the final on September 15. The event’s timing is particularly significant, following the Punjab team’s impressive showing in the recent Buchi Babu Trophy.

This year’s competition places a special emphasis on mentorship, with former state and national players Siddharth Kaul, Gurkeerat Mann, and Barinder Sran joining the teams to share their experience. They will be supported by experienced coaches Mr. Bharti Vij and Sunil Saggi.

PCA Secretary (Officiating) Siddhant Sharma said “My vision is to give our players maximum match exposure. He further emphasised on developing talent in Punjab and bringing them to the highest level. Tournaments like this not only help players improve their form but also provide a platform to rise through performance. We’re confident this Cup will serve as a proving ground for our emerging talent. This year’s competition places a special emphasis on mentorship, with former state and national players Siddharth Kaul, Gurkeerat Mann, and Barinder Sran joining the teams to share their experience. They will be supported by experienced coaches Mr. Bharti Vij and Sunil Saggi.

The competition is further elevated by the participation of several IPL players, including Naman Dhir, Prabhsimran Singh, Nihal Wadhera, Ramandeep Singh, and Harpreet Brar. Their presence will raise the competitive standard, offering all Punjab players a valuable opportunity to test themselves alongside some of the most recognized names in domestic cricket.

The Maharaja Ranjit Singh T20 Cup will also be a key event for selectors, who will use it to assess player form, fitness levels, and potential team combinations for the upcoming BCCI domestic season.
