NewZNew (Panchkula) : Woodlands House School (W.H.S.), Sec-8, Panchkula had their “Poetry Day” on Saturday, 28th Nov 2015 at their school premises.
Children started with prayer song, recited poems and sang songs. For Grand Finale they sang “It’s A Beautiful Day”, “Woodlands School”, “Umedon Wali Dhup”, “A Great Grey Elephant” and “Woodlands Oh! Woodlands”.
Children recited poems like “Aeroplane”, “Two Little Dicky Birds” , “I Hear Thunder”, “Are You Sleeping”, “Up In The Blue Sky”, “Goobare”, Chuhon Mausi So Rahi Hai”, “Upar Chanda” and “Haathi Raaja” with full enthusiasm.
Learning Poetry is as important as story telling or any other art form. It is our Endeavour to bring all the children on the stage to highlight these skills in them and to see children’s expressions, clarity of speech and pronunciation.
