NewZNew (Bathinda) : Every month the Punjab State Human Rights Commission receives around 125 complaints every month regarding human rights violations. The PSHRC member Mr Baljinder Singh Thakur said this while interacting with media persons here today at the Circuit House. Mr Thakur said that in last 18 years the commission has received 2.27 lacs complaints of which 2.19 lacs have been resolved and the three benches of commission were working to resolve pending applications too.
He said that the non-government organizations are working well with the commission to safeguard human rights. Mr Thakur said that the people should not hesitate in approaching human rights commission in cases of human rights violations. He said that the PSHRC also works towards creating awareness on human rights issue under which he delivered a lecture at the Central University of Punjab regarding human rights awareness.
